Caramel Macchiato — The Café Classic, Made at Home
Rich espresso, velvety steamed milk, and a generous drizzle of caramel - the caramel macchiato is one of the most popular coffee drinks for good reason. Here’s how to make one that rivals your favourite coffee shop, using our Caramel Syrup and Boost-It Coffee.
What You'll Need
- 18g Boost-It Coffee (ground for espresso)
- 2 pumps (approx. 20ml) Barista-It Caramel Syrup
- 200ml whole milk
- Espresso machine
- Milk frother or steam wand
Method
- Steam your milk. Heat 200ml of milk to around 65°C and froth to a smooth microfoam. Pour into your cup first.
- Add the caramel syrup. Stir 2 pumps of Caramel Syrup into the steamed milk.
- Pull your espresso. Brew a double shot of Boost-It Coffee and pour it slowly over the back of a spoon to layer it on top of the milk.
- Drizzle. Finish with an extra drizzle of Caramel Syrup across the foam in a crosshatch pattern.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the layers before stirring.
Tips
- The key to a true macchiato is the layering - milk first, espresso last.
- Boost-It Coffee’s bold, full-bodied roast cuts through the sweetness perfectly.
- For an iced version, use cold milk, pour over ice, add syrup, then top with espresso.
